Switching agencies

Switching agencies? Keep your site, your listing and your leads.

Leave your old agency without starting over. We take stock of everything first, move it into your name, and switch nothing off until its replacement is checked.

In detail

Who controls your accounts?

Go down the list and tick who each account belongs to today. You get a plain list of what’s already yours, what to ask your agency for, and how to check anything you’re not sure about. It all stays on this page: nothing you tick is saved or sent.

  1. Domain name

Whoever is listed as the registrant controls your web address and the domain your email uses.

  2. DNS (where your domain points)

DNS decides where your website, email and verification records go. Lose it and email can stop.

  3. Website hosting and platform

If the site lives on the agency’s own platform, there may be nothing to take with you.

  4. Google Business Profile

Your listing on Google Search and Maps, with your reviews. The primary owner controls it.

  5. Google Analytics

Your visitor history. If the account is the agency’s, the history can leave with them.

  6. Google Search Console

Shows how you appear in Google search, and is where Google contacts site owners.

  7. Google Ads and Local Services Ads

Your ad history and settings. If the account is the agency’s, you start over without it.

  8. Facebook, Instagram and Meta ads

Your Page, your followers and any ad account can sit inside the agency’s business account.

  9. Call-tracking phone numbers

If the numbers on your site and ads are rented by the agency, those calls stop when you leave.

  10. Website form inbox

Inquiries from your site may go to an agency inbox before they reach you.

  11. Review profiles (Yelp, Facebook, others)

Your reviews belong with your business, not with whoever set up the profile.

  12. Business email (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365)

The admin account controls every mailbox at your domain.

Nothing on this list is saved or sent. If you close the page, it clears.

What usually goes wrong

Your domain, Google listing or ad accounts sit in your agency’s name. Your site lives on their platform. Leaving feels like starting over.

  • The domain is registered in the agency’s name, so it can’t move without them.
  • Your Google Business Profile, analytics or ad accounts sit under the agency’s login.
  • The site is built on the agency’s own platform, with nothing to take with you.
  • Old pages stop working after the move, and people who find them on Google land on an error page.
  • Forms or call tracking are switched off before the new ones work, and inquiries go missing.

What we do, in order.

We take stock of everything you have: site pages, domain, Google Business Profile, analytics, ad accounts, tracking and forms. We move each one into your name. Once the domain is in your name, the new site keeps every page Google already knows: each old address either stays or forwards to its new page. Nothing is switched off until its replacement is checked.

  1. Inventoryevery page, account, tracking tag and form listed, with who controls it today

More about Switching Agencies & Website Takeover

What you’ll need from your old agency

Ask them for these. If one isn’t available, tell us: some accounts can be re-created in your name instead, and the inventory shows which.

  • The domain transfer code (also called an authorization or EPP code), with the domain unlocked
  • Manager access to your Google Business Profile
  • Access to your analytics account, such as Google Analytics
  • Access to your ad accounts, such as Google Ads or Meta
  • A copy of your site, if they can export one

What you keep if you ever leave us

If you leave

Every client is month to month after the first 90 days.

Whenever you leave, you get an exit kit: your domain and your logins and accounts (Google Business Profile, analytics and ad accounts), in your name; your website and its files; and an export of your records (customers, leads, quotes, jobs and invoices) in standard files you can open anywhere, which we prepare for you.

SaifHaven OS itself stays with us.

How we work, and what you own

Our terms, next to a typical agency’s

Questions, answered.

Will my site drop out of Google when I switch?

We don’t promise rankings. What we control is that, once the domain is in your name, your old pages keep working: each old address either stays or forwards to its new page, and nothing is switched off until its replacement is checked.

What if my old agency won’t hand things over?

Some accounts can be transferred and some have to be re-created in your name. The inventory shows which is which before anything moves, and what we need from your old agency for each one. The domain is the exception: it can’t be re-created, so if it’s registered in the agency’s name, they have to release it to you. The inventory flags this first.

Do I have to rebuild my website to switch?

Not always. If your current site is healthy and you can take it with you, we keep it. If it lives on a platform you can’t take with you, we build a new one and, once the domain is in your name, keep the old addresses working.

Who owns the website, the accounts and the data?

You do. Your website and its content, your domain, your Google Business Profile, and your ad and analytics accounts are set up in your name. Your customer records are yours too.

How long is the commitment?

Every client is month to month after the first 90 days. How much does it cost?

Pricing after your free audit. Each engagement is scoped to your business, not sold as a package, so we price it once we’ve seen what you have and what you need. You see a written plan before any work starts. Every client is month to month after the first 90 days. The audit itself commits you to nothing.
